Mr. Weist
Guitar Teacher
Mr. Weist is a passionate music educator with over five years of experience in private instruction and a background as the Laurel Elementary Strings director. Beginning his musical journey at the age of 9 with drums and 14 with the guitar, he has since expanded his expertise to various stringed instruments, including the mandolin, violin, and bass. His professional music career has spanned over a decade, with notable experiences as a professional touring musician in his folk/bluegrass band called Wood Belly.
Mr. Weist enjoys teaching music as an opportunity inspire his students to develop their own joy and understanding of music knowing that it can bud into a lifelong passion for music. He holds a Bachelor's degree in finance from West Chester University, and in 2013, he learned to play the mandolin during a 6-month backpacking trip on the Appalachian Trail. Chris is a fan of various music genres, including bluegrass, folk, country, and rock and is decorating his studio with a nature theme.
