Lessons for adults can be either piano or guitar. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced player wanting to improve, our lessons will be tailor-made to fit your skill level.
Our approach to teaching music reading is through intervallic reading. Instead of memorizing every note, students learn to read music by focusing on the shapes and their transitions, making the process efficient and fun.
If you have previous music experience that was taught a different way, we will not ask you to unlearn any previous knowledge, but rather add the intervallic method to your toolbox of skills.
Our guitar program for adults focuses on teaching chords and musical theory, rather than individual melodic lines, to equip students to play their favorite songs.
We believe in making learning music enjoyable and encourage our students to tell their teacher what songs they would love to learn to play so it can be incorporated into their lessons alongside the Alfred or Hal Leonard curriculum we use.
All students are encouraged to practice five days a week for short, quality sessions rather than long, overwhelming practice sessions. Our teachers will provide specific assignments of what to practice and how.
