Mr. Kraus

Mr. Kraus is the founder and owner of the Piano and Guitar Institute. He strongly believes that music is not only fun but also has a powerful effect on our capacity to learn and grow, leading to the creation of our school motto, "Music is FUN and FUNdamental to Learning."

Mr. Kraus started playing the piano at the age of three and picked up the guitar during his high school years. He has played in many bands over the years, including one that opened for Great White. He has also contributed to a studio album as a guitarist and bass guitarist for some friends in the early 90s.

Mr. Kraus completed his undergraduate studies in piano performance and marketing at Ohio Northern University and later pursued his graduate studies in theory at Louisiana State University and College-Conservatory of Music at Cincinnati.

Mr. Kraus has been teaching music since 1985. He loves teaching as it keeps him feeling young and allows him to play music every day. He loves playing classical and rock n' roll music on the piano and country on the guitar. He loves to listen to Iron Maiden and Casey Donahew.

Mr. Kraus teaches both in-person and virtual music lessons from his current residence in Germany. With his infectious laughter and positive attitude, Mr. Kraus is proud to offer online lessons that are just as engaging and effective as in-person ones allowing him to teach students from all over the world.
