About Us

Here at Piano and Guitar Institute, we believe that "Music is FUN and FUNdamental" to learning. Piano & Guitar Institute provides premier piano and guitar instruction to the Northern Colorado area and has been since 2001. We offer both in-person and virtual lessons for ages 3 to 103!

With a qualified staff and hundreds of students, we provide individualized instruction that uses consistent methodology, beliefs, and terminology. While each student is paired with a single teacher, our team approach ensures that each student receives personalized attention.

"Our son took piano lessons for years here and loved his experience. They are patient and really try to cater to your preferences and learning style. Every teacher we had was simply amazing! We highly recommend for both adults and children."

  • What are the benefits of learning to play the piano or guitar?
Learning to play a musical instrument enhances cognitive abilities, improves memory, and reduces stress levels. It is also a fun way to express creativity and connect with others through music.
  • What age groups do you teach? Do you teach adults, too?
We teach students of all ages, from young children to adults. For piano, you can be as young as 3 years old, and for guitar, you can be as young as 7 years old.
  • How long are the lessons and how often do they occur?
We offer 30-minute lessons once a week.
  • What does your availability look like?
Hours of operation are 1-8 pm for in-person lessons with more flexibility available for virtual lessons. Specific arrangements can be discussed after filling out the NEW STUDENT INTEREST FORM on our "Get Started" page.
  • Do I need to have any prior musical experience to take lessons?
No, we welcome students of all skill levels, from complete beginners to more advanced players.
  • Do I need to own a piano or guitar to take lessons?
It is necessary to have access to a piano or guitar for practicing outside of lessons.
  • How much do lessons cost?
Please view our pricing page for our current pricing as well as our latest deals and discount opportunities.
  • Am I locked into a contract?
No, you are never locked into a contract. We charge tuition monthly. If you would like to cancel at any time, just let the office know before the next month's invoice is sent out.
  • Will I need to buy books? Are there any costs other than tuition?
You will need to purchase music books as you progress on your musical journey. All necessary books can be purchased directly from Piano and Guitar Institute. Performance fees may be required. Performing is always optional.
  • How do you customize the lessons to each student while still teaching the necessary material?
At Piano & Guitar Institute, we recognize that all students learn differently and we tailor our lessons to meet each individual's needs. Our instructors assess each student's skills, knowledge, and goals and plan accordingly. We regularly assess student progress and adjust our teaching approach as needed to ensure every student’s success.

  • Can I choose my own songs?
We follow a set curriculum. However, learning is supposed to be fun so we always seek to let students learn their favorites using the same methodology.
  • What is your Reschedule Policy?
24 Hour Notice is expected. Reasonable exceptions can be made.
  • What are your planned closures during the year?

Yes, we offer opportunities for students to participate in recitals and performances throughout the year. Participation is optional.
  • What's the benefit of having multiple teachers at Piano and Guitar Institute?
Multiple teachers create the opportunity for multiple family members to receive lessons simultaneously. Multiple teachers means we can find a teacher that fits best for you.
  • Do I need to practice?
For best results, we ask that students practice 5 times a week for as long as it takes to work through the material assigned.
  • Do you teach any other instruments besides piano and guitar?
We specialize in piano, guitar and bass lessons. We do not offer any other type of lessons here.
  • Do you sell pianos, guitars, music, or amps at your business?
