  • How do I get started with lessons?
To get started, simply fill out our new student interest form under the "Get Started" page. Watch our orientation video on the same page to better understand what to expect at Piano & Guitar Institute and complete the form. Our musical director will reach out to finish the enrollment process, once we receive your form.
  • What are the benefits of learning to play the piano or guitar?
Learning to play a musical instrument enhances cognitive abilities, improves memory, and reduces stress levels. It is also a fun way to express creativity and connect with others through music.
  • What age groups do you teach? Do you teach adults, too?
We teach students of all ages, from young children to adults. For piano, you can be as young as 3 years old, and for guitar, you can be as young as 7 years old.
  • How long are the lessons and how often do they occur?
We offer 30-minute lessons once a week.
  • What does your availability look like?
Our availability changes frequently. We cannot offer and hold specific time slots for you until you have gone through the initial steps on our "Get Started" page including our New Student Interest Form. We will first collect your availability in the New Student Interest Form and get you set up with a time during the rest of the enrollment process, should you choose to enroll.
  • Do I need to have any prior musical experience to take lessons?
No, we welcome students of all skill levels, from complete beginners to more advanced players.
  • Do I need to own a piano or guitar to take lessons?
It is necessary to have access to a piano or guitar for practicing outside of lessons.
  • How much do lessons cost?
Please view our pricing page for our current pricing as well as our latest deals and discount opportunities.
  • Am I locked into a contract?
No, you are never locked into a contract. We charge tuition monthly. If you would like to cancel at any time, just let the office know before the next month's invoice is sent out.
  • Will I need to buy books? Are there any costs other than tuition?
You will need to purchase books when you begin and as your progress. You will be advised which book you should purchase when you enroll. You can purchase your books from us. We do not upcharge our books, however, you are welcome to buy your books from anywhere. You may need to purchase supplemental songs or more books when you progress out of your current level. The only other potential payment would be fees for our performances which are optional but encouraged.
  • How do you customize the lessons to each student while still teaching the necessary material?
At Piano & Guitar Institute, we recognize that all students learn differently and have different needs. To ensure that each student gets the best out of their learning experience, we tailor our lessons to meet each individual's needs. Our instructors assess each student's skills, knowledge, and goals and then tailor the lesson plan accordingly. We also regularly assess student progress and adjust our teaching approach as needed. This way, we can ensure that our students receive the necessary material while also getting the support they need to succeed.
  • Do you offer online lessons?
Yes! Our online lessons provide a convenient way to learn from the comfort of your own home with our same amazing, qualified instructors over Zoom.
  • Do you offer in-home lessons?
No, we offer in-person at our Windsor studio or virtual lessons from anywhere with an internet connection.
  • What do you do for snow days or bad weather?
At Piano and Guitar Institute, safety is our top priority, so we will close in the event of severe weather conditions that could risk the safety of our students and staff. We will send out communication via email when these closures come up.
  • Can I choose my own songs?
We can teach a variety of musical styles, including classical, pop, rock, jazz, and more. We can also work with you to integrate your favorite songs into your lessons while still teaching you the building blocks.
  • What is your Reschedule Policy?
We do require advanced notice to be able to reschedule your lesson. If you miss a lesson and do not give us prior notice, we will not be able to reschedule your lesson. If you let us know before your lesson, we will work with you to find another time for that lesson. We do not offer refunds or credits in place of reschedules.
  • What are your planned closures during the year?

  • Can I participate in recitals or performances?
Yes, we offer opportunities for students to participate in recitals and performances throughout the year. Participation is optional but encouraged.
  • What's the benefit of having multiple teachers at Piano and Guitar Institute?
With a qualified staff and several hundred students, we are able to provide individualized instruction that follows the same methodology, beliefs, and terminology. While each student is paired with a single teacher, our team approach ensures that each student receives personalized attention. Having multiple teachers is also great for families with multiple children in lessons.
  • Do I need to practice?
We expect our students to practice at home in order to make progress in lessons. We do not expect our kids to agonize over practicing for hours on end. We ask that students practice 5 times a week for only as long as it takes to work through the material their teacher assigned.
  • Do you teach any other instruments besides piano and guitar?
We specialize in piano, guitar and bass lessons. We do not offer any other type of lessons here.
  • Do you sell pianos, guitars, music, or amps at your business?
